Jackson Kayak Fishing Kayaks. Made in the USA and featuring lots of well designed fishing gear features, you'll want to try one today and we have demo boats for just that purpose. There is a reason this brand grows yearly by leaps over the competition. Come in and see what a great boat lineup looks like. If you miss a demo event, we do small demos frequently, by appointment.
Old Town is bringing their A game with the new models. Loons are back, and customers are loving these models. Castine is new for this fall. Predator pedal drive and Minnkota motor drive are in stock. The Predator Pedal drive won 2016 ICAST best new kayak. It is such a fun, stable, well laid out kayak, and the pedal drive proves Minnkota is the best at their game. Even their budget entry price models up against Pelican or Sun Dolphin bring so much more to the game.
Wilderness Systems, Dagger, Perception, and Mad River Canoes are all in stock. We have a good selection of fishing and high stability models. We advise customers to select boats with safety first, and that means bulkheads. These are some of the bettter touring and rec kayaks you can shop, and we have a larger selection of models than anywhere else I have seen in our bi state region.
SUP boards are now in stock. We have 5 designs on hand and can order Jackson, Boardworks, or Badfish models for you. The designs range from fishing purposes, soft top Yoga boards, to sleek racing / carving boards. We have paddles and PFDs designed just for SUP.
Looking for a super light but very durable kayak that won't show marks like composite fiberglass or kevlar? We have new Delta Kayaks in stock for touring and recreation - all under 45 pounds in the rugged thermoform material. Several of the re-designed hulls are now in stock, featuring the day access hatch. These are very impressive kayaks, and you will love how they perform on the water against any of the competition.
River Basin still has over a dozen Royalex canoes on hand. Choose from Mad River Explorers, and Esquif models. These canoes carried the sport forward from the easily dented alunimum canoe when taken down tough whitewater conditions. Those who know still paddle this choice for cascading rivers, and remote wilderness where durability is critical. The Esquif is more like the classic Daggers, well built to a heavy sheet standard that resists flexing and oil canning. Royalex name is no more, but the same equivalent material is now in production from Esquif, named T-formex. Several known brands are building canoes out of this ABS thermoformed material, the same as Royalex. For those not price sensitive, kevlar provides punish worthy hulls, and can be built in expedition grade in the 50s on weight. We portage canoe travel across glacial cut lakes in the Boundary Waters and Quetico parks using 42 lb ultra light kevlars for a comparison.
